Welcome to the 2025 1 Hour General Elective on climate change and the mortgage industry. We appreciate that for some of our students this may be a controversial topic but as a mortgage education provider we cannot ignore what federal and state agencies are signaling for the mortgage industry and that’s greater focus on how natural disasters and yes, climate change is impacting the mortgage industry.
In this two-chapter course, we’re going to discuss how natural disasters and climate change are impacting the mortgage industry. We will look at various reports and statistics as well as guidance on what impacts look like for not only borrowers, but also mortgage companies. We will also look at how state and federal agencies and YOU, the mortgage loan originator can help mitigate the impact of climate change and natural disasters on borrowers.
